Internal artwork for the newly built dementia unit, located in the double height foyer space.
The artwork uses the image of a local oak tree as its central theme, surrounded by a growth of intertwined common plants and creatures. The plant imagery forming an interconnected, multilayered image, which is a metaphor for the inter-connectedness of memories and the complexities of the human nervous system. The piece was designed to encourage the patients to look up and to provide some theraputic benefits and to make use of the full height of the space.
